Memorable is not the same as predictable

The generator independently selects words from the bundled 7,776-entry EFF long list. A lyric, quotation or sentence you invent does not have the same distribution, even if it has six words. Keep the generated choices rather than substituting favorite words or rearranging them into a familiar phrase.

    What the number means

Six selections give 7,776⁶ possible word sequences, about 77.5 bits of theoretical entropy. Repeated words are allowed because each selection is independent. An optional digit contributes log₂(10) bits and a symbol contributes log₂(12). Capitalization and separators are reversible formatting choices, so they add no entropy. Camel style keeps uppercase word boundaries and retains any hyphens inside the original EFF words.

    Useful to know.

Should I use four or six words?

Four words from this list provide about 51.7 bits; six provide about 77.5 bits. Six or more independent words are a better starting point for a secret you need to remember. Choose more words when your threat model warrants it.

Does camel style make it stronger?

No. The same word choices are simply formatted with uppercase boundaries. The first word stays lowercase, and the remaining words begin with capitals. A website that changes capitalization can change the effective search space.
