    Entropy & possibilities

    Compatible by default

The default is 24 ASCII letters and digits, excluding Il1O0o to reduce common transcription mistakes. It includes uppercase, lowercase and digits, avoids whitespace and punctuation, and fits the familiar password range supported by many personal Wi-Fi routers. Check your router’s actual requirements before applying it. Pronounceable mode trades randomness per character for a more rhythmic sequence; use a longer length when selecting it.

The password is only one setting

Use WPA3-Personal when your router and devices support it, or a suitable WPA2-Personal configuration for older devices. Avoid obsolete WEP or open access for a private network. Install router firmware updates and protect its administration interface with a separate password. The generator cannot detect your router’s encryption mode, firmware or connected devices.

    Share deliberately

A Wi-Fi password grants network access, so share it with the people who need it. A guest network can separate visitors from your main devices. After changing a password on the router, clients may need to reconnect. This page does not collect an SSID and does not create a QR code; nothing about your actual network is stored here.

    Useful to know.

Is this the router administrator password?

No. Wi-Fi access and router administration are separate credentials. Generate different passwords for them and follow your router’s configuration instructions.

Will changing the value here change my network?

No. This page only creates a candidate password. You must apply it through your router’s trusted administration interface.
